Well folks, it’s been a few weeks since we’ve last caught up, but I’ve been hustling away, and seeing a show or two.
Saw the play LIPS TOGETHER, TEETH APART by Terrence McNally at the Second Stage Theatre. It was a four character play set on Fire Island, NY in 1990 concerning the secrets of two couples. There was tragedy, comedy, and an actual pool and shower on stage. That, my friends, was a full evening at the theatre.
I also saw the one person play WIESENTHAL written and starring Tom Dugan at the Acorn Theatre. For those of you who don’t know, Simon Wiesenthal was a man who brought more than 1,100 Nazi murderers to justice. During the play I thought to myself, “He’s like a Jewish Martin Luther King, Jr.” Dugan brought the right touches of humor and sadness to the role. One of the days I will visit the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. What a hero.
Books, glorious books! Read-a-Thon, my personal crusade in literacy continues afoot.

I also have some swell children’s poetry news I’m not at liberty to share until January.
However, I can share that this Saturday will be my 2nd commissioned show in NY this month!
I’ll be performing and conducting workshops at The Poets House located at 10 River Terrace in the Battery Park section of Manhattan at 11:00am.
On the work front, it’s been busy.
Did an acting gig for NY Law School where I act in mediation simulations for the 2nd and 3rd year law students.
Worked 3 days as a teaching artist for The Rush Philanthropic Foundation in Jersey City, NJ and Brooklyn.

BEDTIME RITUAL
Snuggling into bed
Gazing at Momma’s face
Knowing that I’m safe.
