Greetings and Salutations!
Since moving to NY on July 1st I've ventured out into the vibrant world of Gotham City with the aim of procuring a steady stream of income for myself, while continuing to rewrite and submit poems for publication. Well, I'm happy to announce I had some jobs lined up.
Also, starting in the winter I'll be working as a teaching artist for the Rush Philanthropic Foundation, founded by producer Russell Simmons and the creators of Run-D.M.C. I'll be working with painter Candy Weiland (http://candyheiland.com/home.html) on helping students create their own versions of what the word home means to them. http://rushphilanthropic.org/
There's some exciting children's poetry news to report later in the month! I'm not at liberty to divulge it yet, however, like life, I need to be patient.
I'll be spending time with friends this weekend, a day away from the NYC swagger, looking forward to it. They're even cooking for me! I'm so grateful to them. Thank you Lisa, Don, Amelia and Sawyer.
